Overview

The RNSH Endocrine Surgery Unit is the leading endocrine surgery unit in Australia, performing more than 1200 elective cases annually. It is a referral centre for complex thyroid, redo parathyroidectomy and adrenal cancer management, and offers a comprehensive range of minimally invasive surgical options for the full spectrum of endocrine pathology. It has a strong clinical and translational research program, and is internationally renowned for post-fellowship endocrine surgery training (TS Reeve fellowship).

Prof Stan Sidhu has a special interest in laparoscopic adrenal surgery, minimally invasive thyroid and parathyroid surgery, parotid and submandibular gland surgery.

Clin. A/Prof Mark Sywak has an interest in surgery for thyroid cancer as well as minimally invasive surgery for parathyroid disease and adrenal tumours as well as posterior retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy for the removal of adrenal gland tumours.
