NSW Health Research and Innovation Strategy 2025–2030

The NSW Health Research and Innovation Strategy 2025–2030 was launched at the AusBiotech Annual Medtech Conference in May 2025 by the Minister for Medical Research, the Hon. David Harris and the Chief Execute of the Agency of Clinical Innovation (ACI), Dr Jean-Frédéric Levesque.

Spearheaded by the Clinical Innovation and Research Division, the Strategy draws on the strengths of both the ACI and the Office for Health and Medical Research. It lays a strong foundation for deeper collaboration between the NSW Government, healthcare providers, academic institutions, and industry partners—working together to drive better health outcomes for the people of NSW.

The Division already spans the full research and innovation pipeline—from early discovery and clinical trials to translational research, large-scale implementation, and clinical innovation. This Strategy reinforces and enhances NSW Health’s commitment to:

  • improving the experience of both delivering and receiving care
  • increasing system efficiency and sustainability
  • promoting equity in access and health outcomes.
  •

This strategy builds on more than a decade of investment in health research and innovation and aligns with the ACI’s Future Health Strategy, as well as broader NSW Government initiatives, including the NSW Innovation Blueprint.
