The Cardiothoracic Surgery Department at Royal North Shore Hospital is a leading provider of specialised care for patients with heart and chest conditions and is one of the largest units in NSW, performing over 1100 procedures annually. The department specialised in advanced surgical treatments, minimally invasive and robotic procedures including coronary artery bypass surgery, valve repairs, complex lung resections and management and treatment of cardiothoracic tumours.

Dr Michael Harden has special interests in minimally invasive thoracic surgery, thoracic oncology, adult cardiac surgery and pacemaker and defibrillator surgery.
