Today, Dr Micheal Harden presented at Medical Grand rounds, describing the use of 3D printing to reconstruct the sternum of a patient suffering from a rare form of cancer. Dr Harden is one of only a handful of cardiothoracic surgeons worldwide who have used this advanced technology utilising a custom made titanium prosthetic device. The prosthesis was designed and manufactured by Anatomics which is a Melbourne-based and Australian-owned medical device company which has pioneered CT scan derived surgical implant technology.
