Overview of Service
The oral surgeons at Royal North Shore Hospital work collaboratively with other specialties to manage medically compromised patients, trauma patients with odontogenic infections and provide comprehensive inpatient oral surgery services.
Areas of Expertise
- Management and treatment of odontogenic infections
- Management and treatment of patients on anti-resorptive medications / medication related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ)
- Management and treatment of oroantral communications
- Oral pathology (osseous and soft tissue pathology)
- Multidisciplinary management of trauma including dentoalveolar trauma
- Oral surgery for medically compromised patients
- Oral surgery for patients with history of radiotherapy / chemotherapy
