The Surgical Education Research and Training (SERT) Institute at Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) proudly presents the Division of Surgery and Anaesthesia (DoSA) Research Activity Report 2021-2022.
The development of this report is a SERT Institute strategic initiative aimed to raise the profile of the DoSA Departments at RNSH. The report provides a comprehensive overview of each department’s research initiatives, projects and publications throughout 2021-2022.
This report builds upon the 2018-2020 edition, which initially focused on documenting the research output of all surgical departments. Following discussions with the DoSA, we have broadened the scope to encompass the Anaesthesia Department (including Allergy Clinic and Acute Pain Management), Intensive Care Unit, and the Trauma Service.
As a division, our dedication to research has been consistently growing, resulting in a 25% increase in research publications over the last two years. Meanwhile, since the inception of the Research Activity Report, there has been a remarkable increase of over 100% in research publications stemming from surgical departments between 2018 and 2022.
I encourage you to take a moment to review the report and uncover the commitment to research excellence and the notable research accomplishments at RNSH.
